Grant Goodwin, MA
Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, APC10930
I work with you using my experience in meditation, dream tending, play therapy, trauma work, Internal family systems and art therapy to help you get unstuck. We will work together to foster mental and emotional wellbeing, healing from trauma, soul finding, improving your relationships, and attaining both spiritual and earthly goals.
Background
My background is in depth psychology, which gives me insight into the inner workings of the psyche. I have deeply explored the nature of my own humanity as an observer, simply watching and inquiring from a contemplative standpoint so that I may do the same for you during therapy. It is my firm belief that human relationships are the substrate of our soul’s evolution.
My Approach & Values
I value purpose and comfort, and believe that when these two are in balance, mental health is a pleasant side effect. My approach is to find out what you value, and what gives you comfort and explore how these two can be more optimally balanced in your life. When we have too much purpose, we can get burnt out, hardened, detached, egoic, and insensitive to our human needs. When we have too much comfort, we can get bored, idle, lazy, complacent and fall victim to addictions and vices. I like to break things down into pairs of opposites and then work with you to find the middle way. We all need to live purposeful lives but we also all need to experience comfort, pleasure and the simple restoring nourishment of rest. My goal is to help you find balance which yields health and life.
